google announced project glass, the "secret project" very similar to star trek's geordi laforge's ultrasonic visor. it's actually an idealistic movie by the year 2012 which we've seen lots of creative examples before.

adding a new o to the deck, google aims to take ownership of thousands of useless patent rights currently owned by motorola. people are concerned about google's monopolizing the tablet and smartphone market but it seems this will definitely result in an impair investment, slow down enhancements in mobile technology and risk of android losing against incoming apple products.

i'd prefer the company rather invest on nasa to solve real world problems. we want technological improvements like 1 year lasting battery life, 3d hologram displays, supersonic input devices, voice recognition in every language and accent. if google comes up with a cell phone having a gas lighter in the shape of an antenna, i won't be the one who buys it.

google, you're getting old.
